This year on Saturday, August 2nd the “Tour de Lavender” will start up on the Olympic Peninsula, showcasing the world-loved lavender farms of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley, the new Port Angeles waterfront and the new Elwha River Bridge, all connected by the scenic and cyclist-friendly Olympic Discovery Trail.
Make it a full weekend of cycling fun. There are lots of overnight lodging options available to you and your family. Summer is at its best and you won’t want to miss out on the Olympic Peninsula’s incredible mountain and ocean vistas. Book early to avoid disappointment.
Tour de Lavender includes options which will appeal to the broadest range of cyclists and their families. In addition to a Metric Century, there will be other options (20-40 miles) and a Family Fun Ride. The two day “Pedal Power Weekend” includes “Ride the Hurricane” which allows cyclists to have the famed Hurricane Ridge Road up into the Olympic National Park all to themselves and free of vehicles from 7AM to Noon on Sunday, August 3, 2014.
