Registration for the 2018 Tour de Lavender opens officially on February 2nd!

As always, the Tour is the first Saturday in August—August 4th this year—and planning is already well underway as we strive to make this year’s event the best ever. Each year we get a lot of great compliments and excellent suggestions and we try to incorporate as many as we can to make this an experience you’ll love and want to return to every year.

Save the date and start planning your special Olympic Peninsula vacation…

The Tour de Lavender has become the region’s premier cycling experience—visiting world-class, cyclist-friendly lavender farms, riding the scenic Olympic Discovery Trail, and taking in the panoramas of the snow-capped Olympic mountains, the blue-water expanse of the Salish Sea, and the warm Peninsula hospitality.

The Tour, of course, has options for cyclists of all levels and abilities:

  • For families and the casual rider, there’s the Fun Ride where you take a leisurely tour of the farms, setting your own pace and the distance you want to ride over a generally flat course.
  • For those seeking a challenge there’s the Metric Century ride—a 62.5 mile route linking all the farms while taking you up into the foothills of the Olympic Mountains just south of Sequim.

This year we’re planning a dynamite After-Ride Celebration Party with some fantastic door prizes you won’t want to miss out on!  And if you’re up for it, there’s always the option of tackling the 17 mile trek up to the summit of Hurricane Ridge the very next day–the “Ride the Hurricane” event on Sunday, August 5th.

So come early and stay after!

Enjoy the Tour and all the beauty the Olympic Peninsula has to offer, especially the wonders of Olympic National Park.   Discover a whole new world of cycling adventure and one of the best-shared “secrets” around:

The Tour de Lavender: It’s more than just a ride…it’s an experience!

Another record number of riders….

There were 428 registered riders for the 2017 Tour de Lavender, and that’s a 34% increase over the previous year! The ride benefits cycling on the Olympic Peninsula and also helps to sustain the iconic Sequim lavender farms that make it possible.

“What a beautiful way to showcase the people of this event. Great volunteers and hosts. The scenery is a bonus.” — Rosanna

We didn’t have the typical blue skies and gorgeous views all around because of the smoke and haze generated by wildfires in British Columbia, Oregon, Washington, and elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest.

Still, the warm hospitality of our farm owners, their staff, and the people of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley in general made for yet another truly memorable event.

“I strongly recommend the Tour de Lavender. It’s a great course, beautiful ride, and fun event. The course was well manned and help was a phone call away if needed. The farms were lovely and offered great snacks, beverages and goodies. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. I strongly encourage this ride to others. I will definitely do this again next year. I cannot thank all the volunteers enough for making this event a success. Your support on the course yesterday provided me a peace of mind and comfort.” — Aimee

Looking ahead to 2018….

Next year promises to our biggest, “bestest” ever and we hope that everyone who was with us for the 2017 Tour de Lavender comes back to experience this unique event in 2018.  Bring your friends and family as well, and share the fun!

I’m in for next year!!!” –Brianna

We hope you are as well.
